Many Hats

There were times when I was working on The Second that I wanted to give up. Too much introspection, too deep a dive, too far to the finish line were some of my hurdles. Ha! Now those things are in the past. With the book complete, I have to change hats and try something new.

In the last stretch, once I knew I would finally produce a literary work, it was exhilarating. I became very attached to the idea of finally becoming an author. I donned my whimsical chapeau and stepped into the role at long last.

One of the Olympic commentators mentioned one of the competitor’s training timetable last week. He actually said, “Can you imagine working for something for five years?” I almost sprayed my Diet Coke all over the couch. Yes, mister, and then some.

Which brings me back to the topic I started, changing hats. The marketer/publicist’s hat fits completely different. On one hand there are a lot of opportunities to get my book out there. Minneapolis is a very literate place. I just have to be diligent in ferreting out those avenues where my book can find its audience.

I’m very excited to report I am in stock at Magers & Quinn Bookstore in Minneapolis. A few of the Barnes & Noble stores in the Twin Cities have ordered it as well.

I’m also thrilled to say my first royalty check from Amazon arrived. I want to thank all of my early adopters who wrote reviews and posted them. I appreciate your support and am so grateful for your efforts.

Pencils will be sharpened and I will work hard to get the word out about the importance of mental health and keeping my mind, body and soul in balance.

Pencils ready

Peace to you,

Colleen
