A Book Event to Welcome Fall

First off, I want to extend a hearty welcome to all of the recent blog followers. If you signed up before, ahem, September 5th, chances are good that gremlins ate your email address and the signup didn’t work. I apologize profusely for the confusion. The front end said, “Thank you” but something was amiss and the emails weren’t captured. My webmaster and I have located the issue, repaired the connections and tested the widgets. You will receive a Welcome email from me for signing up to either the newsletter or the blog, or double the fun if you choose both. I’ve scheduled the system to send out new content weekly, but in the unlikely event I post more often, you’ll only hear from me on Tuesdays. Technology is amazing when it works and incredibly frustrating when there are glitches.

Onward.

Tuesday September 6th at 9am CDT, I will host an online event on Facebook. I would love to post a link to take you there directly but, alas, I can’t. If you’d like to join me, I’ll host the event most of the day (9am-7pm CDT) with a break in the afternoon. Please click on the Facebook icon at the bottom of the page of this website, and you’ll be directed to my author page. Click on the event Hello Readers: Meet Colleen Burns Durda and join in the discussion any time during the event.

Fellow author and woman possessing truly superior tech skills, Mandy Haynes, has arranged the event on a public group called good news group. She created the online publication http://wellreadmagazine.com and I’m featured on Page 38 in September’s edition. The magazine connects readers and authors by introducing new books and showcasing stories.

I’ll post a video in the event where I introduce myself, my book, and pose a question. Answer the question by posting in the event and you’ll be entered into a contest to win a signed print copy of The Second: A Memoir of Love and Commitment.

I have high hopes and great expectations for this event. It should be fun and a wonderful way to engage with each other. The weather has already begun to cool here in Minneapolis and today most of the kids are back in school. What a perfect opportunity to try something new for the grownups.

I’ll see you on Facebook at the event!

~ Colleen
